Experimental Interpretation of the Provisions of EN 13796-3 for Fatigue Testing of Cableway Gondolas

This article presents an experimental approach to fatigue testing of cableway gondolas, carried out in accordance with the EN 13796-3 standard. Due limitations aforementioned regulations and lack clarity their content, when designing conducting tests there is a need find solutions that meet normative requirements, while ensuring cost-effectiveness tests. The work method loading, receiving degrees freedom, methodology gondola strength verification additional suggestions allowing for satisfactory preparation plan implementation. paper shows problems ways solve it, what may occur during gondolas test design. In addition, contains extensive description research verifying elastic permanent deformation structure, using digital image correlation (DIC). results obtained by this make it possible unambiguously determine degree structure maintaining high accuracy repeatability measurements at many points structure. Following presented tests, was correctly carry nacelle time (about 8 weeks), perform 5 million load cycles verify integrity show effectiveness adopted design assumptions indicate process guarantees correctness conducted prepared study be basis further full-scale object 6-seater designed TRANSSYSTEM S.A.
